Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Merchandise Manager Marketing BD role based in New Delhi. The role is responsible for driving merchandise planning, assortment strategy, and pricing decisions to meet revenue and margin targets. The Senior Merchandise Manager will analyze sales data, inventory levels, and market trends to optimize product mix and lifecycle, and will coordinate with sourcing, supply chain, and finance teams for timely availability and cost control. The position will lead marketing activities for assigned categories, including campaign planning, in-store promotions, and digital initiatives aligned with brand and business objectives. The role will also focus on business development by identifying new partners, negotiating commercial terms, and building long-term strategic relationships. Day-to-day work includes preparing performance reports, presenting insights to senior leadership, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring consistent brand and customer experience across channels.
Qualifications
- Strong merchandising expertise, including assortment planning, pricing strategy, demand forecasting, and inventory management.
- Proven marketing and business development skills, including campaign planning, partner acquisition, negotiation, and account management.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using data and reporting tools to generate insights and guide decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to senior management and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field; a master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Several years of experience in merchandising, category management, or related roles, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce.
- Comfort working on-site in New Delhi and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
