Job Description: Medical Writer (CME Grant Proposals)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Medical Writer with strong scientific writing skills, willing to
learn and specialize in CME (Continuing Medical Education) Grant Proposal Writing. The
ideal candidate may not have experience in CME grants, but must be able to identify
clinical gaps, analyze the scientific literature, and develop evidence-based educational
rationales. Training will be provided on CME frameworks, ACCME standards, and
Pharma IME expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific & Medical Writing
- Review and synthesize scientific literature.
- Develop evidence-based content for medical education.
- Support gap analyses, needs assessments, and learning objectives.
CME Grant Proposal Development
- Assist in drafting CME/IME grant proposals.
- Learn gap analysis, needs assessment, learning objectives, and outcomes measurement.
- Understand CME compliance and independence standards.
- Support proposal strategy and faculty rationale.
- Handle grant submissions on pharma portals and coordinate efficiently with IME teams
Research & Analysis
- Identify practice gaps and unmet educational needs.
- Conduct literature reviews and extract scientific insights.
Collaboration
- Work with internal teams, including medical strategy and content.
- Participate in brainstorming scientific program ideas.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Public Health, or related fields.
- 4–6 years of experience in medical writing or scientific communication.
- Strong literature analysis and structured scientific writing skills.
- Excellent written English and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare communications or pharma writing.
- Familiarity with medical affairs content.
- Understanding of medical education (not required).
- Exposure to outcomes research or educational content development.
