- Clinical Governance & Patient Safety
- Oversee and ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and evidence-based medical care across all departments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols, SOPs, and treatment guidelines.
- Lead patient safety initiatives, clinical audits, and mortality/morbidity review meetings.
- Ensure timely and appropriate clinical decision-making in complex or emergency cases.
- Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, and other regulatory standards.
- Lead medical-related preparations for accreditation and re-accreditation processes.
- Maintain adherence to clinical documentation standards, medical record keeping, and consent protocols.
- Doctor & Consultant Management
- Oversee recruitment, credentialing, and privileging of medical staff (consultants, residents, visiting doctors).
- Manage doctor empanelment, contract negotiations, and professional fee structures.
- Foster strong relationships with consultants, addressing their clinical and administrative needs.
- Organize CMEs, clinical meetings, and continuing medical education programs.
- Medical Operations & Resource Optimization
- Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, lab, radiology, and other clinical departments for seamless patient flow.
- Optimize bed management, OT utilization, and critical care resources.
- Monitor medical inventory (drugs, implants, consumables) in coordination with procurement.
- Participate in hospital budgeting and cost control measures related to medical services.
- Quality Improvement & Clinical Research
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across clinical departments.
- Monitor clinical outcome indicators, infection rates, readmission rates, and patient feedback.
- Promote evidence-based practice and support clinical research activities.
- Patient & Family Communication
- Address complex patient grievances related to clinical care.
- Ensure effective communication between medical staff, patients, and families regarding treatment plans, risks, and outcomes.
- Uphold patient rights, dignity, and ethical medical practices.
- Emergency & Disaster Management
- Lead the hospital's emergency response and disaster management protocols.
- Ensure 24×7 availability of on-call medical leadership for crisis situations.
- Liaison & External Relations
- Represent the hospital in interactions with regulatory bodies, medical councils, and government agencies.
- Coordinate with empaneled corporates, TPAs, insurance companies, and referral partners on medical matters.
