Role Description As a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at Portl, you will design, develop, and optimize electromechanical systems that power Portl’s connected fitness products. You will lead the integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, working closely with cross-functional teams in hardware, firmware, and software to translate product requirements into robust engineering solutions. Day-to-day, you will create and review schematics, select components, oversee PCB and actuator integration, guide prototyping, and support testing and validation for performance, safety, and reliability. You will also troubleshoot system-level issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions, including maintenance and repair strategies for deployed units. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechatronics, with a minimum experience od 15 years, designing and integrating mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems.
- Proficiency in Electrical Engineering and Electronics, including circuit design, sensors, actuators, and power management for embedded systems.
- Hands-on expertise in Electromechanics and Maintenance & Repair, including diagnostics, failure analysis, and improvement of electromechanical assemblies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with CAD tools, PCB design workflows, and collaboration with firmware/software teams for system integration.
- Familiarity with safety standards, reliability testing, and product validation for consumer or fitness hardware is an advantage.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, document designs clearly, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort working on-site in a lab and manufacturing environment, with a practical, prototype-driven approach to problem-solving.
