We’re not hiring a Mechanical EngineerWe’re looking for someone who has actually built products.**
At Onio Design, we work on 0→1 product development across mobility, marine, and industrial systems.
Most candidates show us CAD.
We’re interested in what you’ve taken to the workshop, broken, fixed, and shipped.
Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer – NPD (Pune)If your strength is:
- SolidWorks (real assemblies, not tutorials)
- Sheet metal + plastic part design (manufacturing-ready)
- DFM / DFA thinking
- GD&T that actually gets used on shop floor
- Hands-on prototyping (CNC / fabrication / 3D printing)
Then this might be relevant.
What you’ll actually do- Convert industrial design into working products
- Build prototypes that fail → and fix them fast
- Work directly with vendors, fabricators, and real constraints
- Take products from concept → pilot → production
No “only CAD” roles here.
What will stand out immediately- You’ve built real products (not just college projects)
- You can show photos of prototypes, assemblies, failures
- You understand why designs fail in the real world
- You’ve worked with vendors and production drawings
What won’t work here- Portfolio full of rendered models only
- No exposure to manufacturing or prototyping
- Overdesigned concepts that can’t be built
