Job details:
Company Description Mechapixel is a specialized mechanical engineering firm focused on delivering precise, innovative, and high-quality solutions for its clients. The team works closely with early-stage startups, supporting them from initial concept through to full-scale production. By concentrating exclusively on mechanical engineering, Mechapixel offers deep domain expertise and practical, customized approaches to product development. The company understands the unique challenges startups face and partners with them to turn bold ideas into successful, market-ready products. Mechapixel fosters a collaborative environment where engineers can contribute to building breakthrough technologies and shaping the future.
Role Description The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems for startup clients, translating product requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating detailed 3D models and drawings, performing design analyses, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and iterating designs based on feedback and testing. The role involves guiding junior engineers, reviewing designs for quality and compliance with standards, and contributing to design reviews and documentation. The engineer will work closely with clients to understand technical needs, propose design improvements, and support prototype builds and production ramp-up. This is a full-time remote role, requiring strong communication and self-management skills to coordinate effectively across distributed teams.
Qualifications

- Hands-on expertise in Machine Design, including mechanisms, assemblies, and component selection.
- Proven experience in Product Design, taking concepts from requirements and prototypes to production-ready solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drawings.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience working with startups or early-stage product development, including rapid prototyping and iterative design.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with basic structural or thermal analysis (FEA), industry standards, and best practices in mechanical design.
- Comfort using collaborative tools and version control for CAD and documentation; prior remote work experience is a plus.
