Job Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production planning, high product quality, cost control, and strict adherence to safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and cross‑functional coordination to meet production targets and organizational goals.
- Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the complete production process, including planning, scheduling, and execution of assembly operations.
- Develop, set, and monitor production targets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure that all manufactured products meet defined quality standards before delivery to customers.
- Coordinate closely with Supply Chain, Design, Engineering, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production flow.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, and delays in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor utilization of machines and equipment; ensure regular preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost effectiveness (Lean, Kaizen, 5S practices).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company workplace standards at all times.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production teams to maintain high performance and accountability.
- Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in machine manufacturing or heavy engineering industries.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly lines, production planning, and quality systems.
- Proven leadership and people‑management skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with safety standards, ISO systems, and industry best practices.
- Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume machine manufacturing environments.
Exposure to ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory control.
Continuous improvement mindset with hands‑on implementation experience.
