Job details:
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics to lead the manufacturing, assembly, and integration of electronic subsystems for UAV platforms. This execution-focused role involves translating complex electronic designs—including flight control systems, power distribution units, and communication interfaces—into production-ready assemblies that meet aerospace-grade quality, reliability, and performance standards. Working closely with Mechanical and Electrical Production teams, you will be responsible for the installation, interconnection, and validation of electronic systems within the airframe, while establishing and driving standardized manufacturing processes, work instructions, and assembly methodologies. The role also includes ownership for creation of Manufacturing BoM & management (Product Tree), engineering change management (ECO/ECR), and release processes, ensuring configuration control, traceability, and alignment between design and production.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, standardize, and continuously improve EWIs, OMS, and SOPs.
  • Ensure robust wire harnessing practices including EMI shielding, routing, and strain relief.
  • Manage RF integration to ensure optimal antenna placement and minimal interference.
  • Optimize assembly processes for complex electronic and electrical systems.
  • Co-own integration of electronic systems into the airframe with the integration & assembly team.
  • Drive MES implementation for manufacturing process standardization and digitization.
  • Design and implement MES-enabled workflows for real-time visibility and traceability.
  • Map and analyze current-state processes including routing, cycle time, takt time, and material flow.
  • Standardize manufacturing data including work instructions, routing, machine parameters, and quality checkpoints.
  • Establish traceability frameworks aligned with production and quality requirements.
  • Define workstation layouts, line balancing, and operator allocation to meet takt and efficiency targets.
  • Support production assembly & procurement (SCM) of electronic modules from component sourcing, assembly outsourcing (PCB / Harness) and their functional testing at IQC & Vendor.
  • Investigate and resolve electronic failures at the component level using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analysers.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, transitioning designs from prototype to full-scale production and ensuring scalable manufacturing.
  • Implement electronic subsystem assembly and testing, improving process stability, repeatability, and reducing defects.
  • Validation and installation of electronic, tools, equipment and automated testers.

Skills and Competencies

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with minimum 60% marks overall.
  • 5–8 years of experience in electronics manufacturing (Aerospace/Robotics/Defence preferred).
  • Strong expertise in UAV avionics systems (Flight Controllers, ESCs, GPS, PDBs).
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle, or KiCad) for modifications and test setups.
  • Hands-on experience with IPC-610/620 standards for soldering and wire harnessing processes to meet aerospace reliability standards.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols (CAN, I²C, SPI, UART, MAVLink).
  • Proven ability to take ownership, solve problems, and work independently.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
