Role: Senior Managing Consultant – SAP SD (S/4HANA Support)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Managing Consultant with deep expertise in
SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD) within the
Supply Chain Management (SCM) domain to lead and manage a high-impact
Application Support & Continuous Improvement engagement for a leading UK media organisation.
This role requires a blend of
functional expertise, stakeholder management, and delivery leadership, ensuring stable operations while driving ongoing optimisation of SAP processes aligned to evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Governance
- Lead end-to-end AMS (Application Management Support) delivery for SAP SD within S/4HANA landscape
- Own SLA/KPI adherence, incident/problem management, and service reporting
- Establish and drive governance cadence with client stakeholders (weekly/monthly reviews, service improvement plans)
- Ensure ITIL-aligned processes across incident, change, and release management
Functional Leadership (SAP SD / SCM) - Act as functional lead for SAP SD, covering:
- Order-to-Cash (OTC)
- Pricing, Billing, and Revenue processes
- Integration with MM, FI, and external systems
- Provide L3 support and guide team on complex issue resolution and root cause analysis
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and minor enhancements
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Serve as primary interface between business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors
- Engage with senior stakeholders across supply chain, finance, and commercial functions
- Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions
Team Leadership & Delivery Management
- Lead and mentor a multi-shore SAP support team
- Manage workload prioritisation, resource planning, and team performance
- Ensure knowledge management, documentation, and transition maturity
Transformation & Optimisation
- Identify opportunities for process automation and optimisation within S/4HANA
- Support roadmap initiatives including upgrades, rollouts, and integration enhancements
- Bring industry best practices, particularly from media and publishing domains
Required Skills & Experience
SAP Expertise - 12+ years in SAP SD with at least 1–2 S/4HANA implementations/support engagements
- Strong experience in:
- Order-to-Cash lifecycle
- Pricing procedures, billing, and revenue flows
- Integration with MM, FI/CO
- Exposure to media industry processes (subscriptions, advertising revenue) is highly desirable
Support & Delivery
- Proven experience managing AMS / Support engagements with strict SLA environments
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework
- Experience in incident, problem, and change management tools
Leadership & Consulting
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing leadership roles
- Strong governance, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate at Managing Consultant / Delivery Lead level
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP S/4HANA certification (SD or equivalent)
- ITIL certification
- Experience working with UK-based clients and distributed teams
