Job Title: Senior Manager – Safety (Solar EPC)
Key Responsibilities
- HSE Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems for solar EPC projects.
- Drive a strong safety culture across all project sites and teams.
- Set safety KPIs and monitor organizational performance.
- Project Safety Management
- Oversee safety execution for utility-scale and rooftop solar projects.
- Ensure safe installation of module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, modules, and associated works.
- Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and industry standards (e.g., IS codes, OSHA guidelines).
- Liaise with government authorities and external auditors for inspections and approvals.
- Maintain all safety documentation, permits, and licenses.
- Risk Assessment & Incident Management
- Lead hazard identification (HIRA/JSA) and risk mitigation planning.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Training & Awareness
- Develop and conduct safety training programs, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Build competency across project teams and contractors on safety practices.
- Promote awareness campaigns and behavioral safety programs.
- Contractor & Vendor Safety Management
- Evaluate and onboard contractors based on HSE compliance.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and enforce adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct periodic reviews and corrective actions for non-compliance.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Develop emergency response plans for site-specific risks.
- Conduct mock drills (fire, electrical hazards, working at heights, etc.).
- Ensure availability of safety equipment and first-aid facilities.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and present HSE reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to management.
- Track safety KPIs, incidents, LTIFR, and compliance metrics.
- Maintain records for audits and client reporting.
- Continuous Improvement
- Benchmark best practices and implement safety improvements.
- Drive initiatives like digital safety systems, safety analytics, and innovation.
- Support ESG and sustainability goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E./B.Tech (preferred) + Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety
- Experience: 12–18 years in HSE, with significant experience in solar EPC / power / infrastructure projects
- Experience managing multiple large-scale project sites preferred
