About ClearTax
We are the architects of the modern financial operating system. Since our inception in 2011, ClearTax has transformed from a disruptive tax-filing startup into India’s leading B2B tax compliance and finance powerhouse. Today, we empower the CFO’s office by providing an integrated, AI-driven ecosystem that handles everything from GST and e-invoicing to accounts
payable and wealth management.
The Impact of Our Work:
We operate at a scale that defines the digital economy. As a Series C-funded leader backed by Y
Combinator, Sequoia Capital, and Stripe, we:
● Power Global Trade: We process nearly 10% of India’s B2B invoices, representing
over $300 billion in annual trade value.
● Drive Real Savings: In the last year, our automation tools returned over ₹1,000 crore to
the bottom lines of our customers through intelligent insights.
● Scale Globally: We provide assured compliance for enterprises across 50+ countries,
spanning the EMEA and APAC regions, including the UAE and the EU.
About the Role
ClearTax is looking for a Senior Manager – Revenue & Automation to own the intersection of
revenue accounting, finance systems, and AI-driven automation. This is a rare hybrid role: part
revenue-recognition subject-matter expert, part finance-technology builder, and part team
multiplier. You will own the accuracy and timeliness of revenue reporting across all geographies,
run the finance-technology stack (SAP, App Script, and the in-house automation layers), and lead
a team to deliver high-impact revenue & automation charters end to end.
We are looking for someone who can carry the existing mandates forward: keep the books clean,
keep the systems running, and keep finding smart ways to remove manual work.
What You’ll Own
Revenue Recognition & Reporting
• Own end-to-end accrued and deferred revenue recognition under Ind AS 115 / IFRS 15 across all revenue streams — annual and multi-year licences, upgrades, downgrades, refunds, churns, cancellations — including edge cases such as fiscal-year-boundary accruals and contract-modification treatment.
• Maintain the revenue-recognition policy and framework as the single source of truth, and partner with external auditors (Big 4) to secure clean, unqualified sign-off.
• Deliver Day-1 monthly MIS across all geographies with zero calculation errors and a complete, defensible audit trail.
Order to cash operations
• Oversee deal desk operations, invoicing, cash applications, sales compensation, AR dispute resolution as a single point of escalation for all the order to cash operations.
• Support month-end close, bank reconciliations, EDPMS/suspense clearing.
Finance Systems & Automation
• Own the SAP Business One platform including coordination with implementation partners, gather internal development requirements and drive the deployments, version upgrades, TDS/GST configuration, SSO, and audit-trail integrity.
• Design and build finance automation using tools such as Python, Google Apps Script, N8N, and AI/LLM APIs — e.g. AR-collections tooling, invoice-processing portals, reconciliation bots, and self-serve analytics.
Team Leadership & AI Enablement
• Lead and grow a team of 3–5, mapping each member to expanded scope with clear success criteria, named backups for critical paths, and regular coaching.
• Act as an AI multiplier for the entire finance and accounting function — run enablement sessions and coach every team member to ship their own automations, creating measurable capacity.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
• CA with 5+ years in revenue accounting, controllership, or finance operations — including hands-on revenue recognition under Ind AS 115 / IFRS 15.
• Proven ownership of month-end close and statutory audit, ideally in a SaaS or technology business with multi-geography operations.
• Strong working knowledge of an ERP (SAP Business One preferred) and a CRM (Salesforce preferred), including how finance data flows between them.
• Demonstrated ability to build or drive automation — comfort with tools such as Python, SQL, Google Apps Script, or low-code/RPA platforms, and the judgement to know when to build vs. buy.
• Hands-on AI fluency: using LLM tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) as a research and coding partner to solve real finance problems, with a strong data-security discipline.
• Experience leading a team and lifting its capability, not just its headcount.
Nice-to-Haves
• Exposure to GST, TDS, and Indian indirect-tax rules and their system implications.
• Experience with SAP upgrades or migrations
• Familiarity with data-governance frameworks (DPDPA / GDPR) and basic information-security hygiene.
