Role Summary/Job Specifications:
- Experienced legal professional with 10–12 years of hands‑on experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and leading cross‑functional legal projects.
- The role will own contract lifecycle management, provide pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders, drive process improvements, and manage external counsel and internal legal initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and Negotiation: Prepare standard templates, Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including MSAs, Lease Deeds, Leave and License Agreements, vendor and supplier contracts, SaaS and technology agreements, NDAs, SLAs, professional services agreements, licensing agreements, and amendments.
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Implementation of Contract Management Portal, Establish and maintain templates, clause libraries, and approval workflows to accelerate contracting and reduce legal risk.
- Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate legal projects such as contract rollouts, vendor consolidation, compliance implementations, and cross‑border transactions; set timelines and report progress to senior management.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary legal business partner to commercial, procurement, product, finance, IT and operations teams; translate legal risk into clear commercial options and recommendations.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks; ensure contracts comply with applicable Indian laws and relevant international requirements.
- External Counsel Management: Select, instruct, and manage external counsel; control budgets and monitor deliverables for litigation, regulatory matters, and specialized transactions.
- Training and Enablement: Deliver training sessions and guidance to business teams on contracting best practices, negotiation tactics, and legal policies.
- Reporting and Metrics: Track and report key legal metrics (cycle times, contract volumes, dispute status) and propose process improvements to reduce bottlenecks.
- IPR (TM’s and Copyrights): End-to-End IPR and Trademark Registration Process
- Ad hoc Legal Support: Support corporate matters, due diligence, IP protection and dispute resolution as required.
- Attending all courts for by and against cases and defending and taking proactive steps as may be required from time to time.

Qualification
LLB from a reputed law college,
LLM or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
Experience
10–12 years of post‑qualification experience in life insurance company / corporate / commercial law with substantial exposure to drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Experience in in‑house legal teams or top law firms preferred.
• Jurisdictional Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Indian corporate, contract, and regulatory law; familiarity with cross‑border legal issues is an advantage.
• Technical Skills: Proven experience with contract management systems, MS Office, and e‑signature platforms.
