We are seeking a talented individual to join our OW Tech team at Marsh. This role will be based in Pune/Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We are seeking a highly experienced procurement and financial management professional with expertise in end-to-end procurement management, financial management, budget oversight, vendor management, and process optimization. This role will be responsible for driving procurement operations, managing technology budgets, overseeing vendor relationships, improving operational efficiencies, and strengthening financial governance across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of strategic leadership, operational execution, financial acumen, and stakeholder management capabilities, with proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
We will count on you to:
End-to-End Procurement Management
- Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle including sourcing, purchasing, contracting, vendor onboarding, renewals, and payment coordination.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate commercial agreements to optimize cost, quality, and service delivery.
- Ensure procurement activities align with organizational policies, compliance standards, and business objectives.
- Manage procurement operations to support uninterrupted business continuity and operational efficiency.
- Oversee procurement governance, controls, and approval processes.
Financial Management & Budget Oversight
- Manage and oversee technology and operational budgets, ensuring accurate allocation, tracking, forecasting, and reporting of spend.
- Drive budget planning, forecasting, and financial management activities across procurement and vendor portfolios.
- Monitor budget utilization and proactively identify risks related to overspend, underutilization, financial leakage, or misuse of funds.
- Ensure financial discipline and accountability through strong budget governance and controls.
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to align procurement spend with organizational priorities and financial targets.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning cycles.
- Ensure timely processing of vendor payments and resolution of payment-related issues to minimize operational disruption and financial risk.
- Provide leadership with budget insights, spend analysis, and recommendations to optimize costs and improve financial efficiency.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and service providers.
- Manage vendor performance, contract compliance, SLAs, and issue resolution.
- Conduct vendor reviews and support supplier risk management initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Operations teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on procurement strategy, vendor optimization, and financial management.
Process Optimization & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to streamline procurement and financial management processes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, visibility, and operational scalability.
- Implement and enhance procurement workflows, controls, reporting, and governance frameworks.
- Support automation initiatives and optimization of procurement and financial systems.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to improve decision-making and accountability.
Risk Management & Governance
- Strengthen controls to reduce operational, procurement, and financial risks.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations, and audit requirements.
- Support business continuity by proactively managing procurement dependencies and operational risks.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor performance, payment delays, and budget misuse.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in: End-to-end procurement management Financial management and budget oversight, Vendor and contract management, Forecasting and spend governance, Process optimization and operational improvement
- Proven experience managing procurement and financial operations in large, complex organizations.
- Strong expertise in procurement processes, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor governance.
- Experience with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities
- Procurement or financial certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, PMP, CPA, or equivalent are a plus.
- Experience supporting technology organizations or IT procurement functions.
- Experience leading procurement transformation and operational improvement initiatives.
