YOUR MISSION:
Role Summary: PUMA India is looking for an experienced e-commerce professional to lead marketplace and digital commerce operations across key platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio and other strategic online partners.
The role will be responsible for driving profitable growth, improving operational performance, managing inventory availability, optimizing marketplace execution and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the company’s commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- E-commerce and Marketplace Management
- Own the day-to-day business performance of assigned marketplaces and digital commerce channels.
- Develop and execute marketplace strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, sell-through and market-share objectives.
- Manage online product launches, seasonal campaigns, promotional events and commercial calendars.
- Drive improvements in traffic, conversion, average selling price, sell-through and overall marketplace productivity.
- Monitor marketplace dashboards and identify opportunities or risks related to sales, pricing, stock and product visibility.
- Build strong relationships with marketplace account managers and external business partners.
- Review marketplace performance and negotiate business plans, visibility opportunities, promotions and operational improvements.
- Inventory and Availability Management
- Lead inventory planning and stock allocation across marketplaces in coordination with merchandising, planning, warehousing and supply chain teams.
- Monitor stock cover, sell-through, ageing inventory, stock-outs, excess inventory and replenishment requirements.
- Develop actions to improve inventory turnover and reduce lost sales caused by availability issues.
- Coordinate liquidation and markdown strategies for ageing, slow-moving and end-of-season inventory.
- Ensure alignment between commercial demand, inventory availability and fulfilment capacity.
- Commercial and P&L Management
- Own the commercial performance of the assigned e-commerce business, including net sales, gross margin, discounts and profitability.
- Prepare periodic sales forecasts, budgets, business reviews and performance updates.
- Track actual performance against targets and identify corrective actions.
- Evaluate the financial impact of promotions, discounts, marketplace fees, returns and operational costs.
- Partner with finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and profitability visibility.
- Use data-driven insights to support pricing, promotion and investment decisions.
- Catalogue and Product Operations
- Drive timely and accurate product catalogue creation, onboarding and content readiness.
- Coordinate product information, images, descriptions, attributes, pricing and inventory feeds across platforms.
- Improve product discoverability and content quality in partnership with brand, marketing and catalogue teams.
- Manage marketplace readiness for new launches, range updates and seasonal product transitions.
- Resolve catalogue, pricing, content, visibility and product mapping issues with internal and external teams.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with merchandising, planning, supply chain, warehouse, finance, marketing, customer service and technology teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional action plans for business priorities and operational issues.
- Support the development of processes that improve execution speed, accuracy and scalability.
- Establish clear governance mechanisms, reporting routines and performance review forums.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on business performance and market trends.
- Reporting and Analytics
- Create and maintain regular business reports, dashboards and management presentations.
- Analyze sales, inventory, profitability, customer, product and marketplace data to identify growth opportunities.
- Track key performance indicators and translate data into clear business actions.
- Improve the quality, automation and usability of e-commerce reporting.
- Use tools such as Excel, Power BI and marketplace analytics platforms to support decision-making.
YOUR TALENT:
Candidate Profile
- 6–9 years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace management, digital retail or commercial operations.
- Experience managing major marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of online retail metrics, marketplace operations, inventory planning and promotional management.
- Experience managing sales targets, business planning, forecasting and P&L performance.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external marketplace partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert data into business decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools is preferred.
- Experience in fashion, footwear, apparel, sportswear, lifestyle or consumer retail will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment.
