Key ResponsibilitiesCoding Operations ManagementOversee day-to-day medical coding operations across specialties (IP/OP, E&M, Surgical, Ancillary, Risk Adjustment as applicable).Ensure accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers in accordance with payer and regulatory guidelines.Monitor and improve coding productivity, accuracy, turnaround time (TAT), and SLA adherence.Compliance & QualityEnsure compliance with CMS, OIG, payer policies, and industry coding standards.Lead internal and external coding audits; analyze audit results and drive corrective action plans.Identify coding risks, compliance gaps, and revenue leakage; implement preventive controls.Stay current with coding updates, annual code changes, and regulatory interpretations.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop coding team leads, senior coders, and coding analysts.Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skill-development initiatives.Support hiring, training, onboarding, and certification maintenance of coding staff.Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), Billing, AR, Denials, and Compliance teams.Support denial management by providing root cause analysis and coding education.
