10–15 years in SAP ABAP development, including 4–6 years in leadership or management roles with extensive project implementation experience
The Senior SAP ABAP Manager will lead the ABAP development practice within the SAP delivery center, driving the design, development, and implementation of complex SAP solutions across ECC and S/4HANA environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, proven experience in managing large-scale implementation projects, and strong leadership skills to guide teams in a global delivery model. The senior manager will be responsible for shaping the technical roadmap, enforcing coding standards, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with business objectives.
Lead and manage ABAP development teams, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Oversee end-to-end SAP implementation projects, ensuring requirements are translated into scalable technical solutions and delivered on time and within budget.
Review and approve technical designs, custom code, and RICEFW objects to ensure adherence to SAP best practices and clean-core principles for S/4HANA.
Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to define technical architecture and resolve complex requirements.
Troubleshoot critical issues, lead performance optimization initiatives, and ensure system stability.
Drive innovation by adopting modern SAP technologies such as CDS views, AMDP, OData services, Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP, SAP CPI, SAP RAP and ABAP Cloud.
Define and enforce coding standards, quality gates, and governance policies across projects.
Ensure comprehensive documentation of technical designs and maintain compliance with corporate and audit standards.
Contribute to strategic planning, resource management, and capability building within the delivery center.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10–14 years of SAP ABAP development experience across ECC and S/4HANA, with extensive project implementation background.
Expertise in classical ABAP (reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, workflows) and advanced ABAP for HANA (CDS views, AMDP, OData).
Strong knowledge of integration technologies (BAPIs, IDocs, RFC, Web Services) and middleware concepts (SAP PI/PO, CPI).
Experience in performance analysis and tuning using ST05, ST12, and SCI.
Exposure to Fiori/UI5 development and deployment, as well as SAP BTP extensions.
Proven ability to lead large teams, manage complex projects, and deliver in a global delivery model.
Strong project management skills with experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
SAP ABAP certifications, particularly in S/4HANA extension and integration, are highly desirable.
