Position Overview
We at HR Interface Recruitment Consulting are hiring a Senior Manager - Art Liaison for one of India’s most exciting & leading contemporary art galleries based in Mumbai & Delhi. This is a highly relationship-driven and operationally critical role focused on artist management, exhibition coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and seamless execution of gallery programming and special projects.
The incumbent will work closely with artists, curatorial teams, exhibitions, sales, operations, marketing, and leadership teams to help strengthen artist relationships while ensuring high-quality execution across exhibitions, publications, art fairs, installations, and gallery initiatives.
This role is ideal for polished, culturally aware, highly organized professionals who are comfortable managing multiple stakeholders while operating in a detail-intensive, fast-paced, creatively driven environment. The Senior Manager - Art Liaison serves as the critical bridge between the gallery and its artists, ensuring seamless communication, thoughtful coordination, and end-to-end execution of exhibitions and special projects. The role demands strong relationship management with represented artists, meticulous attention to operational details, and a deep commitment to showcasing artistic intent across platforms. This position is both strategic and hands-on—requiring the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, support curatorial and sales teams.

- Deliver exhibitions and art fair presentations that become benchmarks in the contemporary Indian art world—flawless in execution, resonant in narrative, and inspiring in audience impact.

Role & Responsibilities
Artist Relations & Stakeholder Management
- Build and nurture strong long-term relationships with represented and associated artists.
- Conduct regular artist communication, coordination, and relationship management activities.
- Support artists across exhibitions, publications, installations, and gallery initiatives.
- Coordinate closely with artists to understand artistic intent, concepts, and project requirements.
- Serve as a key communication bridge between artists and internal gallery teams.
Exhibition Coordination
- Lead end-to-end coordination and execution of exhibitions and special projects.
- Manage exhibition timelines, schedules, artwork inventories, checklists, and coordination workflows.
- Manage press releases, curatorial texts, sales decks, social media materials, vinyl texts, and photography.
- Coordinate installation and de-installation processes while ensuring artwork safety and presentation quality.
- Support the sales team with relevant exhibition content including artist and artwork details.
- Organize internal team walk-throughs of upcoming exhibitions.
- Maintain and track exhibition schedules and budgets with actuals.
Communications & Liaison Work
- Coordinate closely with artists to understand and convey the conceptual underpinnings of artworks as well as artists’ intent for exhibitions, special projects, and fairs.
- Manage any and all related documentary materials for the execution of artists’ works for exhibitions and media
Art Fair Participation
- Manage application processes, coordinate with fair organizers, and assist with booth design, artwork selection, and content creation.
- Support exhibition setup and take-down (on-site or remotely).
- Assist the sales team with content and documentation for fair presentations.
Billing & Financial Coordination
- Collect and organize bills from all service vendors including framers and photographers; generate top sheets for accounts.
- Liaise with the accounts team to ensure timely payments and follow-ups on pending payments
- Assist in maintaining a quarterly and annual exhibition expense report and related budgets.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Arts Management, or related fields.
- 10 – 12 years of experience in a contemporary art gallery, institution, or similar cultural organization.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to engage sophisticated and high-value clientele and project management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Prior exposure to art galleries or art auction houses will be highly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships and follow-ups simultaneously.
- A genuine interest in contemporary art, artists, exhibitions, and cultural ecosystems is highly preferred.
