Role: Senior Manager — Last Mile (Efficiency & Strategy)
Location: Gurugram
Experience: 5–8 Years
About: Fairdeal.Market
Fairdeal.Market is a rapidly growing B2B quick commerce company enabling businesses to access a wide range of products with delivery in as little as 60 minutes. As we continue scaling our dark store and delivery network, we are focused on building a highly efficient, data-driven, and operationally resilient last-mile ecosystem that delivers speed, reliability, and strong unit economics at scale.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Manager — Last Mile (Efficiency & Strategy) to own the unit economics, operational intelligence, and real-time command of our last-mile delivery network.
This is a builder role — you will not inherit a polished system; you will design one. You will sit at the intersection of Operations, Product, and Data, running the Control Tower that keeps our network honest in real time while simultaneously engineering the structural improvements that prevent fires from starting.
If you thrive in ambiguity, obsess over CPO, and know how to shift from live crisis response to long-term systems thinking within the same workday — this role was written for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Control Tower Operations:
- Own and operate the Last Mile Control Tower — the nerve centre monitoring live delivery performance across all dark store clusters
- Build real-time visibility dashboards tracking order SLAs, rider availability, hub throughput, and exception queues
- Define and enforce escalation protocols for SLA breaches, high-delay corridors, and surge events — move from alert to resolution within defined response windows
- Drive the shift from reactive fire-fighting to predictive intervention — identify patterns in Control Tower data to prevent repeat failures
- Serve as the final decision-maker during live operational crises; own the incident log and RCA process end-to-end
- Unit Economics & Cost Control:
- Own the Cost Per Order (CPO) metric end-to-end — identify cost drivers, model scenarios, and execute reduction initiatives
- Build and maintain a live Last Mile P&L dashboard; surface anomalies before they become trends
- Drive initiatives targeting delivery SLA improvement, hub efficiency, and idle time reduction
- Process Optimization:
- Audit existing dispatch, routing, and rider allocation workflows; identify and eliminate manual intervention points
- Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for last-mile ops and Control Tower protocols across all dark store clusters
- Lead post-mortem analysis on delivery failures, SLA breaches, and high-CPO periods — close every loop with a structural fix, not a workaround
- Product & Tech Bridge:
- Act as the primary business stakeholder for the dispatch/routing product team — translate Control Tower pain points and operational needs into actionable product specs
- Co-own the roadmap for dispatch automation; push for loop closures that remove human dependency from repetitive monitoring and decision tasks
- Evaluate and onboard third-party logistics-tech tools (Control Tower platforms, routing engines, telemetry tools) where build isn't justified
- Team & Execution:
- Manage a team of city/cluster-level ops managers and Control Tower analysts; set clear KPIs and review cadences
- Build a performance culture — data-first, no-excuse, high-accountability
What We’re Looking For
- 5–8 years in last-mile, supply chain, or logistics operations; at least 2 years in a strategy, Control Tower, or analytical ops role
- Hands-on experience running or building a Control Tower, war room, or live ops command function
- Demonstrable track record of CPO reduction or delivery SLA improvement at scale
- Strong analytical foundation — comfortable with SQL, Excel/Sheets modelling, and BI tools (Metabase, Looker, or equivalent)
- Prior experience as a business counterpart to a Product or Engineering team
- Excellent written communication — crisp briefs, sharp specs, clean SOPs, and clear incident reports
The Ideal Candidate DNA
- Systems thinker — you don't just fight fires, you build the fireproofing
- Control Tower-native — you’ve sat in the hot seat during a live SLA crisis and understand that speed of response and quality of RCA are both non-negotiable
- Ops-native, data-fluent — comfortable both on-ground and interpreting live dashboards without hand-holding
- Builder mentality — uncomfortable inheriting processes that “have always been this way”
- AI-native workflow — uses AI tools to accelerate monitoring, surface anomalies, draft communications, and prototype solutions as part of everyday execution
- Low ego, high output — thrives in flat hierarchies where influence comes from quality of thinking, not title
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong operational and analytical thinking
- Deep understanding of last-mile delivery networks and logistics operations
- High ownership and execution mindset
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments
- Strong stakeholder management across Operations, Product, and Engineering
- Structured problem-solving and process optimization capability
- Data-driven decision-making mindset
What You’ll Get
- Opportunity to build and scale last-mile operations for a high-growth B2B quick commerce company
- Ownership of mission-critical operational systems and efficiency metrics
- Direct exposure to leadership, product, and operational strategy
- Fast-paced, execution-first culture with high autonomy
- Strong growth opportunities in operations, strategy, and supply chain leadership
