Senior Manager – Procurement & PPIC (Herbal, Ayurvedic & Pharmaceutical Products)
Position Overview
Divisa is seeking an experienced and strategic procurement professional to lead Procurement and PPIC functions across its herbal, Ayurvedic, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical product portfolio. The role requires deep domain knowledge of herbs, botanical extracts, Ayurvedic formulations, pharmaceutical ingredients, packaging materials, and contract manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing vendor relationships, driving cost optimization, ensuring uninterrupted material availability, and overseeing production planning and inventory control to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead sourcing of herbal raw materials, Ayurvedic ingredients, botanical extracts, pharmaceutical excipients, packaging materials, and finished products.
- Establish and manage a robust network of qualified suppliers, manufacturers, and contract manufacturing partners.
- Drive commercial negotiations, annual rate contracts, and long-term vendor partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supply chain optimization.
PPIC (Production Planning & Inventory Control)
- Lead material planning based on sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory targets.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory health, slow-moving stock, stock aging, and replenishment cycles.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Warehouse, R&D, Regulatory, and Sales teams to align procurement with operational requirements.
- Develop forecasting and material requirement planning (MRP) processes to improve planning accuracy.
Vendor Development & Supply Chain Management
- Evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers for strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, compliance, and delivery timelines.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through alternate sourcing and contingency planning.
- Build strong partnerships with domestic and international suppliers where applicable.
Product & Industry Expertise
- Apply strong understanding of medicinal herbs, Ayurvedic ingredients, extracts, nutraceuticals, pharmaceutical raw materials, and packaging components.
- Assess market trends, seasonal availability, pricing fluctuations, and sourcing opportunities.
- Support new product development initiatives through supplier identification and material sourcing.
Compliance & Process Excellence
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, GMP requirements, quality standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee purchase documentation, contracts, vendor approvals, audits, and procurement records.
- Implement procurement KPIs, dashboards, and MIS reporting systems.
Candidate Profile
Education
- B.Pharm, M.Pharm, B.Sc./M.Sc. (Life Sciences), Biotechnology, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent qualification.
- MBA in Operations, Supply Chain, or Procurement preferred.
Experience
- 8–15+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, and PPIC.
- Mandatory exposure to Herbal, Ayurvedic, Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, or Wellness product categories.
- Proven experience handling herbal raw materials, botanical extracts, packaging materials, and contract manufacturing procurement.
- Strong track record in vendor development, cost optimization, and inventory management.
