Job Summary
The Senior Legal Manager will be part of the Managing Director's Office (MDO) and will oversee legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across all business verticals. The role requires strategic advisory, transaction support, and risk management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be working as a member of the Managing Director's Office (MDO) and shall be engaged in all legal, regulatory and compliance aspects of the business verticals of the Company from time to time. The general roles and responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the MDO and the Company's management on legal, regulatory, and compliance risks related to major business decisions, real estate projects, financial and other transactions and critical matters from time to time.
- Lead efforts to detect and evaluate legal, regulatory, and compliance risk exposure; collaborate with risk and control functions (legal affairs, ethics & compliance, regulatory affairs, government and other statutory affairs), having specific regard to the provisions of the Transfer of Properties Act and RERA.
- Manage, coordinate and work with external legal counsel with respect to ongoing matters and lead all such matters to their logical conclusion as independently as possible. Build and maintain relationships with existing and new law firms to best protect the MDO and the Company's interests.
- Draft, review, and revise various agreements, contracts and documents relating to the Company's real estate activities, including but not limited to opinions, offer letters, joint development agreements, development agreements, permanent alternate accommodation writings, title certificates, project management and/or development management agreements, master service agreements and vendor agreements.
- Draft, review, and revise various agreements, contracts, deeds and scrutinize documents relating to the Company's loan and project finance.
- Draft and review internal and external correspondence with the various stakeholders and parties with whom the Company is interacting, including but not limited to co-operative housing societies and their members, trusts, statutory bodies, municipal corporations and external legal counsel.
- Prepare extensive case notes and maintain a directory of all legal action points and matters, including real estate and other litigation matters filed or to be filed by or against the Company. Prepare and maintain records and files of all transactions entered into by the Company.
- Review, revise and advise the MDO on all real estate and other transactions entered into by the Company, and support other members of the MDO on legal matters generally.

Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB or higher)
- Qualified with AIBE (Bar certification mandatory)
- Membership with ICSI (preferred, not mandatory)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in:
- Real estate developer organizations, or
- Reputed law firms specializing in real estate
- Strong knowledge of:
- Indian real estate laws
- Transaction advisory
- Corporate governance
