About the Role
The Senior Legal Counsel & Compliance Manager serves as the primary legal advisor to the organisation, supporting business operations across India, Singapore, the United States, UAE, Vietnam, and other jurisdictions. The role oversees commercial contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, employment law, data privacy, intellectual property, and strategic legal risk management, providing practical legal guidance that enables business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Contracts
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including customer, SaaS, vendor, partnership, consultancy, service, banking, and financing agreements.
- Maintain contract templates and negotiation playbooks.
- Advise business teams on contractual risks and commercial transactions.
2. Litigation & Dispute Management
- Manage domestic and international disputes, including consumer, employment, TCPA, contractual, arbitration, and court matters by:
- Coordinating with external/foreign counsel.
- Managing litigation strategy, evidence, discovery, and legal research.
- Supporting settlement negotiations and ongoing case management.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Data Privacy
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws across operating jurisdictions.
- Advise on data privacy, fintech regulations, and other legal compliance requirements.
- Monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies.
4. Employment Law
- Advise on employment matters, HR policies, investigations, and labour law compliance.
5. Intellectual Property
- Manage IP protection, licensing, enforcement, and related legal matters.
6.Legal Advisory
- Draft and respond to legal notices.
- Partner with business, product, HR, and finance teams to provide practical, risk-balanced legal advice.
- Support strategic legal risk management and governance initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- LL.B. / B.A. LL.B.
- 5+ years' post-qualification experience in corporate legal and compliance.
- Experience handling cross-border legal matters across jurisdictions such as India, Singapore, the US, UAE, and Vietnam is preferred.
