Role Description The Senior Lead Software Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of back-end services that power Outris’s data analytics platform. This role involves architecting scalable systems, implementing APIs, and optimizing data processing pipelines in collaboration with product, data science, and DevOps teams. The Senior Lead Software Engineer will be hands on, will review and refine technical designs, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices in software quality, security, and performance.
Day-to-day activities include writing clean, reusable code, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and driving continuous improvement across the engineering stack. The role also requires clear communication of technical decisions, proactive ownership of critical systems, and contribution to long-term technology roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building scalable, high-availability services and APIs.
- Advanced Programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar), with emphasis on clean, maintainable code.
- Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns, and their application in large codebases.
- Experience leading engineering projects or teams, including technical mentorship and collaborative solution design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization, and CI/CD practices.
- Background working with data-intensive applications, analytics platforms, or distributed systems is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective remote collaboration, and clear written and verbal communication.
