Position Details:
- Role: Senior / Lead AS 400 Developer
- Location: [Hyderabad/Bengaluru]
- Employment Type: [Full-time]
- Reports To: [Manager]
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a team of AS400 RPG developers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Design, develop, test, and implement new applications and enhancements to existing systems using RPG IV/ILE, CL, and DB2.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security standards are met.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in RPG programming.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Prepare technical documentation and user guides.
- Stay updated with AS400 technologies and recommend improvements.
- Support migration, integration, and modernization initiatives as needed.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- 5+ years of experience in AS400 development with strong expertise in RPG IV/ILE, CL, and DB2.
- Proven experience in leading development teams and managing projects.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with modernization tools and integration with other platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with on-shore and off-shore teams
- Experience with APIs, web services, and middleware integration.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with change management and version control tools.
- Experience in insurance, finance, or related industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
