Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful APIs, and Kafka. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in building scalable microservices, developing event-driven systems, implementing unit and integration testing, and applying software design and architectural patterns.
This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise-grade microservices using Java (Kotlin preferred) and Spring Boot.
- Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs with proper validation, exception handling, versioning, and documentation.
- Design and implement Kafka-based services, including producers and consumers, to support event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
- Write comprehensive Unit Tests and Integration Tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito to ensure high code quality and application reliability.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including design patterns and architectural patterns (Layered Architecture, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, CQRS where applicable).
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to designing scalable, maintainable distributed systems.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Perform code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and support deployment activities.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Kotlin is highly preferred.
- Proven experience designing and developing Microservices Architecture.
- Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience implementing Apache Kafka producers and consumers for event-driven applications.
- Experience writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests using JUnit, Mockito, and related testing frameworks.
- Solid understanding of software design principles and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Experience with distributed systems and backend application development.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools.
