Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Developer with strong hands on engineering expertise across Java, Spark, and AWS Cloud-native data platforms, who can drive the migration of existing Spark-based pipelines into the Snowflake Lakehouse using Snowpark, modern ELT patterns, and scalable cloud architecture. The role involves designing, optimizing, and delivering high performance data engineering solutions within a highly regulated financial environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant professional experience in backend or application development.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Core Java (8+) for enterprise-grade application development along with data management skills using SQL and Spark
- Ability and willingness to work across the stack, including cloud infrastructure management, deployment pipelines, and application runtime environments.
- Comfortable working in Agile operating models (Scrum/Kanban) with iterative delivery and continuous improvement practices.
- Team oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be independent, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast paced, often ambiguous and multi-directional work environment.
- Energetic, self-directed, and self-motivated, with a passion for learning and applying new technologies.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong design and programming experience in Core Java
- SQL & Data Modeling: Strong SQL skills are essential, along with experience in designing star/snowflake schemas.
- Experience with Apache Iceberg, Parquet file formats for managing data
- Strong AWS Cloud Skills as a Developer
- Strong experience in Apache Clusters, Parquet, Delta Lake Table formats
- Strong experience in Spark programming and SQL
- AI Features: Snowflake Cortex AI, Snowflake Copilot, Devin, GitHub Copilot, and even Anthropic's Claude Code (as GS recently did a major tie-up with Anthropic for their Claude portfolio of products)
Preferred Skills:
- Good understanding of Snowflake Architecture is preferred
- Good knowledge of target Lakehouse in Snowflake from a data migration perspective
