Role Overview
Our client is supporting the development of advanced AI systems by incorporating high-quality software engineering expertise into training and evaluation workflows.
We are looking for experienced
Java backend engineers with strong hands-on expertise in
Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and scalable backend architecture. The role involves building and reviewing production-grade backend systems, improving reliability and performance, and contributing technically rigorous software outputs that help train next-generation AI systems.
No prior AI experience is required.
CONTRACT: Contractor assignment
COMMITMENT: Full-time
LOCATIONS: Remote
NOTES: Compensation ranges from
$60-$110 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend systems
- Build production-grade services using Spring Boot
- Architect and implement robust microservices for complex application requirements
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations
- Review technical specifications and translate them into reliable implementations
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance and stability
- Participate in code reviews and provide technically grounded feedback
- Improve backend reliability, security, maintainability, and scalability
- Document technical decisions, architecture, and implementation details clearly
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on complex backend development tasks
Requirements
- Strong professional experience with Java backend development
- Advanced hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles
- Experience designing and building REST APIs
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient production code
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, data structures, and software engineering best practices
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing backend applications
- Professional written and spoken English
