Job Title: Senior Java Backend Engineer (eCommerce)
Location: Pan India (Pune, Mumbai, Noida, Hyderabad, chennai)
Experience: 8 to 12 Years
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Apache Kafka to build and enhance scalable, high-performance eCommerce platforms. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing backend services supporting Product Listing Pages (PLP), Product Detail Pages (PDP), Cart, Checkout, Pricing, Inventory, or Order Management.
You will work closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade backend applications capable of handling high transaction volumes.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Build RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices for eCommerce applications.
Develop and maintain services supporting Product Catalog, PLP, PDP, Cart, Checkout, Pricing, and Order Management.
Implement asynchronous communication using Apache Kafka.
Collaborate with frontend, product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
8+ years of experience in Java backend development.
Strong proficiency in Java (11/17 preferred).
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging platforms.
Strong knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
eCommerce Domain Experience (Mandatory)
Candidates should have hands-on experience building one or more of the following capabilities:

Shopping Cart
Checkout
Product Catalog
Pricing & Promotions
Inventory Management
Order Management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and domain-driven design.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Exposure to headless commerce or composable commerce architectures.
