Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer / IT Lead to take ownership of our end-to-end networking and Linux infrastructure. This role requires strong expertise in network engineering and Linux system administration, along with the ability to lead a small team and ensure high system performance, security, and availability.
This is not a helpdesk or support-only role. The ideal candidate must have real infrastructure ownership experience across networking, servers, and data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the complete IT infrastructure (networking, servers, and Linux environments)
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches, routers, and firewalls
- Administer and manage Linux-based systems and servers
- Ensure high availability, uptime, and infrastructure security
- Monitor systems, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions
- Handle incident management, escalation, and root cause analysis
- Manage and implement virtualization platforms (VMware / Proxmox / KVM)
- Work with Docker and container-based environments
- Plan infrastructure scaling, upgrades, and performance optimization
- Lead and mentor engineers while ensuring smooth operations
Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
- Proven hands-on infrastructure experience (not helpdesk, not purely development roles)
- Strong L2/L3 networking expertise, including:
- VLANs, STP, ACLs
- Inter-VLAN routing
- At least one routing protocol (OSPF or BGP)
- Firewall administration and policy creation (enterprise-level)
- Strong Linux server administration experience (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu), including:
- Server management
- Troubleshooting
- Performance tuning
- Experience with data center physical operations (rack/stack, cabling, hardware handling)
- Hands-on experience with at least one monitoring/NMS platform
- Experience creating and maintaining:
- Network diagrams
- Change logs
- Incident reports (RCA)
- Runbooks / SOP documentation
Technical Requirements
Networking
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba switches/routers
- Strong troubleshooting and network performance optimization skills
- CCNA or equivalent practical experience preferred
Linux Administration
- Strong command over Linux systems
- Hands-on experience in server management and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of system security, patching, and performance tuning
- RHCSA / RHCE preferred (or equivalent real-world experience)
Infrastructure & Tools
- Experience with virtualization tools: VMware / Proxmox / KVM
- Working knowledge of Docker (containerization)
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools
