About Huki Lab
Huki Lab is building an AI-native camera and editing app for iPhone. We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer who will join as our founding iOS engineer and own the native product from camera capture and real-time processing to editing, export, and App Store delivery.
This is a hands-on, full-time, on-site role in Gurugram. It is designed for an engineer who wants genuine product and architecture ownership, direct access to the founders, and the opportunity to build a technically ambitious consumer experience from zero to one.
What you will own
• Design and build the native iOS architecture for our camera and editor.
• Develop reliable camera capture workflows using Swift, AVFoundation, and AVCaptureSession.
• Build high-performance real-time effects, image and video processing, and editing experiences.
• Own playback, timeline interactions, encoding, export, memory usage, and performance optimization.
• Integrate on-device or cloud AI capabilities into a fast and intuitive consumer product.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, observability, release quality, and App Store delivery.
• Work directly with the founders, ship rapidly, and help shape the future iOS engineering team.
What success looks like
During your first months, you will understand the product vision and existing prototype, define a maintainable iOS and media architecture, and ship measurable improvements to camera reliability, rendering performance, and editing quality. You will make clear technical trade-offs, communicate risks early, and create foundations that future engineers can extend.
You are a strong fit if you have
• Strong production experience with Swift and native iOS development.
• Shipped at least one consumer iOS application or substantial production feature.
• Hands-on experience with AVFoundation, AVCaptureSession, or native camera and video workflows.
• Experience with UIKit and/or SwiftUI, structured concurrency, memory management, and performance debugging.
• Experience profiling production applications using Instruments or comparable tools.
• The ability to independently own architecture and execution in an early-stage startup.
• Clear communication and willingness to work closely with product and design.
• Willingness to work on-site in Gurugram.
Four or more years of professional iOS experience is preferred, but exceptional engineers with strong shipped work are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated engineering ability matters more to us than formal credentials alone.
Bonus points
• Metal or Core Image real-time pipelines.
• AVAssetReader, AVAssetWriter, VideoToolbox, codecs, or video export.
• HDR, color management, camera hardware controls, or computational photography.
• Core ML or other on-device AI inference.
• Objective-C, Objective-C++, or C++ integration.
• Experience building video editors, creative tools, camera apps, or media SDKs.
Why join Huki Lab
• Founding-level ownership of a zero-to-one consumer product.
• Direct collaboration with the founders and influence over technical and product decisions.
• Opportunity to grow into leadership as the iOS team expands.
• A role centered on difficult, meaningful native iOS and media engineering problems.
• Relocation support is available. Accommodation and meals can be arranged if required.
Location and relocation
This is an on-site role in Gurugram, Haryana. Candidates already based in Delhi NCR are preferred, but strong candidates from other cities are welcome to apply if they are willing to relocate. Please mention your current location and likely relocation timeline.
How to apply
Please include your resume and LinkedIn profile, plus an App Store, GitHub, or portfolio link if available.
