The Director/ Sr. Director – Americas & LAC will be responsible for driving FICCI's engagement with North America (United States and Canada) and the Latin America & Caribbean region. The role will focus on strengthening bilateral trade and investment relationships, facilitating business partnerships, promoting economic cooperation, and positioning FICCI as a key industry partner for stakeholders across the region. The position will lead country-specific initiatives, business councils, trade delegations, policy dialogue, and strategic partnerships while supporting India businesses in exploring opportunities across the Americas and LAC markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Bilateral Business & Trade Promotion (30%)
• Lead FICCI's engagement with the United States, Canada, and Latin America countries.
• Facilitate trade and investment opportunities between India and international companies.
• Identify emerging sectors and business opportunities for India industry.
• Support market access initiatives and business expansion efforts.
2. Government & Diplomatic Engagement (20%)
• Build relationships with embassies, consulates, trade offices, and government agencies.
• Facilitate policy dialogue and business-to-government interactions.
• Support high-level bilateral visits and strategic economic engagements.
• Engage with ministries and regulatory stakeholders on international trade matters.
3. Business Councils & Stakeholder Management (15%)
• Manage bilateral business councils and country-specific platforms.
• Build relationships with member companies, chambers, and industry associations.
• Facilitate networking and collaboration opportunities for stakeholders.
• Ensure active participation of members in FICCI initiatives.
4. International Events & Delegations (15%)
• Conceptualize and execute business delegations, CEO forums, roundtables, and investment summits.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing trade missions.
• Develop strategic agendas and engagement plans for international events.
• Ensure successful delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
5. Knowledge & Policy Advocacy (10%)
• Monitor economic, trade, and geopolitical developments across the Americas and LAC.
• Develop policy briefs, country reports, and business intelligence inputs.
• Support preparation of representations and recommendations for policymakers.
• Position FICCI as a knowledge partner on regional economic issues.
6. Revenue Generation & Team Leadership (10%)
• Drive sponsorships, partnerships, and project revenues for regional initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of professionals.
• Ensure achievement of departmental goals and timelines.
• Foster collaboration across sectoral and international teams.
Key Skills & Competencies
• 20–28 years of experience in international trade, business development, diplomacy, policy, or industry associations.
• Strong understanding of North America and Latin America business environments.
• Knowledge of international trade, investment, and economic cooperation frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability.
• Experience in organizing international delegations, forums, and business events.
• Strategic thinking with strong execution capability.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work across diverse cultures and international markets.
Preferred Background
• Experience with industry associations, chambers of commerce, export promotion councils, or international business organizations.
• Exposure to US, Canada, Latin America, or Caribbean markets.
• Experience in trade promotion, investment facilitation, international business development, or economic diplomacy.
• Advanced degree in International Relations, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field.
• Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese would be an added advantage.
