Senior Interior Designer
Experience: 7–10 Years
Location: Pune
Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and experienced Interior Designer with 7–10 years of professional experience to lead the design and execution of interior projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong design, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to transform concepts into functional and aesthetically appealing spaces. Experience in designing educational institutions such as schools, colleges, universities, or training centers will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative interior design concepts aligned with client requirements and organizational standards.
- Prepare space planning layouts, mood boards, design presentations, and material specifications.
- Create detailed drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and furniture layouts using design software.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, project managers, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and décor elements.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, ensure design quality, and resolve site-related issues.
- Review project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high design standards.
- Stay updated on emerging design trends, materials, sustainability practices, and technologies.
- Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance where required.
- Maintenance: Ensure the upkeep, periodic inspection, and timely maintenance of interior spaces, furniture, fixtures, and finishes by coordinating with vendors and maintenance teams while maintaining quality, safety, and aesthetic standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in interior design and project execution.
- Experience in commercial, institutional, corporate, or educational projects.
- Experience in the educational industry will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of space planning, design principles, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
- Excellent visualization, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail.
Preferred Competencies
- Creative thinking with a strong aesthetic sense.
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally responsible design practices.
- Experience in turnkey interior projects.
- Understanding of budgeting, BOQs, vendor management, and procurement processes.
- Leadership and team management capabilities.
