As the Senior Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting robust healthcare integrations that connect our platform with U.S. healthcare systems. You will focus on interoperability with EMRs using Mirth Connect, FHIR APIs, and HL7 standards, ensuring our products exchange data seamlessly, securely, and in compliance with U.S. healthcare regulations.
In this role, you will act as a technical lead for integration initiatives, working cross-functionally with Product, DevOps, and Customer Success to ensure alignment with the company's broader goals. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support healthcare integrations with a strong focus on:
- Mirth Connect–based interfaces (HL7 v2, CDA)
- FHIR-based APIs and interoperability workflows

- Act as the technical lead for interoperability initiatives, working closely with Product, DevOps, and QA teams to drive projects from concept to completion.
- Own end-to-end integration delivery, including requirements analysis, interface design, error handling, monitoring, and production support.
- Integrate and maintain connections with U.S. healthcare systems and EMRs (such as Epic, Cerner, or Athena), ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA, ONC guidelines, and FHIR R4/US Core standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to support customer onboarding and manage integration timelines effectively.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive integration documentation, interface specifications, and runbooks for operational continuity.
- Monitor integration performance using logs, dashboards, and alerts; proactively identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot production issues.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and release coordination to ensure high-quality delivery of integration-related features.
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders regarding integration status, risks, and timelines.
- Demonstrate commitment to the ChartRequest PATH by being a polite and respectful problem solver, accountable for your actions, and a helpful team player across departments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in healthcare interoperability and system integrations within a SaaS or B2B healthcare environment.
- Deep practical knowledge of U.S. healthcare interoperability standards, including:
- Mirth Connect: Expertise in building channels, transformers, filters, JavaScript, and error handling.
- FHIR: Deep understanding of FHIR R4 resources, REST APIs, OAuth2, and SMART on FHIR concepts.
- HL7 v2: Familiarity with message types such as ADT, ORU, ORM, and CCDA.
- Proven experience integrating with major U.S. EMRs (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athena, Allscripts) and a solid understanding of U.S. healthcare workflows.
- Strong understanding of backend and integration-friendly technologies, including Node.js, RESTful APIs, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning, and managing delivery timelines.
- Exceptional debugging and problem-solving skills, specifically for troubleshooting production integration issues in a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical integration concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation. This role is an individual contributor role with a quarterly incentive compensation plan performance bonus. The monthly base compensation will be between ₹1,25,000 - ₹2,00,000 per month depending on relevant integration and technical experience.
