Job Title: Insurance Business Consultant – Property & Casualty (P&C)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Business Consultant to support enterprise modernization and transformation initiatives across P&C insurance operations. This role focuses on evaluating current-state business processes, defining future-state (“to-be”) processes and best practices, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience across P&C lines of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support modernization and digital transformation initiatives across P&C insurance functions, including policy administration, underwriting, rating, claims, billing, and servicing
- Assess, document, and analyze as-is business processes across personal and/or commercial lines
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within existing P&C operating models and systems
- Define, recommend, and validate to-be P&C business processes, workflows, and operational best practices
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, process workshops, and stakeholder working groups
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, process flows, and business solution recommendations
- Partner with technology teams to ensure P&C business processes are accurately reflected in system design and configuration
- Collaborate with compliance and regulatory stakeholders to ensure alignment with state and industry requirements
- Develop and deliver clear, compelling presentations for business leaders and executive stakeholders
- Communicate complex P&C concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Support change management, business readiness, and adoption activities as part of modernization efforts
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Consultant, Business Analyst, or similar role within P&C insurance
- Hands-on experience supporting modernization or core system transformation projects in a P&C environment
- Strong understanding of P&C products and processes (e.g., Auto, Home, Commercial Lines, Specialty)
- Demonstrated ability to document as-is processes and design to-be P&C process models
- Experience recommending process improvements and operational best practices
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including executive-level communication
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with P&C core systems (policy, claims, billing, rating engines)
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery methodologies
- Consulting or professional services experience
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements across multiple states
- Relevant certifications (CBAP, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar)
