What You Will Be Doing
- Designing and iteratively refining an AI-powered learning ecosystem that demonstrably exceeds traditional education, validated by concrete improvements in student achievement metrics
- Interacting directly with students via virtual channels to comprehend their learning journeys, obstacles, and achievements, applying these insights to enhance the learning ecosystem continuously
- Analyzing learning platform data to identify actionable insights and create high-impact academic interventions using AI/ML, learning science, and evidence-based motivational strategies
- Fostering a culture of ambitious experimentation and data-informed decision-making, utilizing analytics to achieve breakthrough improvements in student growth trajectories
- Collaborating with platform engineering, data science, and design teams to convert academic insights and student input into fluid product improvements
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Wrapping traditional education in AI packaging. This is not about transferring classroom teaching to digital screens—we are fundamentally redesigning learning from first principles.
- Working with data in a vacuum. You will regularly interact with K-12 students, treating their feedback as critical input from our primary customers.
- Seeking unanimous approval before taking risks. You will advocate for a visionary approach and mobilize others through data-backed outcomes.
- Adhering to established methods. You will have the freedom to test novel approaches to motivation, assessment, and pedagogy.

Senior Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities
Lead innovation in AI-enabled, teacher-less education to achieve outstanding student results across multiple campuses. Integrate data analysis with consistent student interaction to continuously refine our learning ecosystem, evaluated by AP exam scores and MAP assessment growth.
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
- Leadership experience in education or EdTech
- Experience applying AI technologies in an educational or professional context
- Experience designing and implementing AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning
- Strong understanding of learning science principles and data-driven educational approaches
- Proven ability to communicate complex educational and technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
