Position Summary:
The Senior IT Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and advancing the Microsoft Cloud environment and local IT infrastructure for the DKMS site in Kolkata. This role serves as a critical bridge between local operational needs (particularly within the laboratory environment) and international IT standards, driving digital workplace optimization while providing high-quality technical support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud Administration & Infrastructure Management
• Administer, maintain, and continuously improve the Microsoft Cloud ecosystem, with a core focus on Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Intune.
• Oversee and optimize modern workplace and endpoint/device management solutions across the local network.
• Manage, monitor, and maintain the local network and overall IT infrastructure to guarantee high availability and data security.
2. Modern Workplace Consultation & Process Optimization
• Act as an internal consultant for various business units, advising them on selecting, implementing, and adopting solutions within the Microsoft 365 portfolio (Teams, SharePoint, Planner, etc.).
• Analyze existing operational workflows to identify digital transformation opportunities and implement productivity-boosting solutions.
3. Local Site IT Operations & Specialized Support
• Take full ownership of local IT operations and end-user support at the Kolkata site, ensuring a highly functional digital environment for all employees.
• Provide specialized IT integration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for laboratory equipment and other technical/industrial devices.
• Handle the full lifecycle of local IT assets, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of workstations and mobile endpoints.
4. Global Collaboration & Project Management
• Actively participate in international IT projects and collaborate closely with global infrastructure and architecture teams (including teams in Germany).
• Support other global DKMS locations on an as-needed basis, sharing local operational insights to challenge and refine global IT frameworks.
5. Compliance & Documentation
• Create, update, and maintain meticulous technical documentation of local IT systems, network topologies, configurations, and operational processes.
• Ensure all local IT operations strictly align with global IT security protocols and compliance frameworks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience in IT Administration.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Intune.
• Deep knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Planner).
• Strong understanding of core network technologies (DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Prior experience supporting IT infrastructure for laboratory or specialized medical equipment is preferred. • Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal), strong troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to work independently and with global teams.
