Job details:
About the role
TNT Global is a manufacturer of steel and aluminium ladders at Mundka Industrial Area, Delhi, with a multi-floor, multi-shift assembly operation. We are designing a new greenfield plant on lean principles and will move the ladder line into it. We are hiring a Senior Industrial Engineer who runs the assembly building today and is our internal coordinator for the new-plant project from kick-off to handover. The role reports to the VP Operations. Floor supervisors report to this role.
Responsibilities
Assembly building in-charge
- Split the daily production plan across floors by crew and standard minutes; enter the day plan and planned crew every morning.
- Confirm material at every station before the shift; place the next-shift component call-off with fabrication and paint shop.
- Balance manpower between floors; log every transfer.
- Respond to every stoppage of 30 minutes or more; make sure every stoppage is logged with a reason; raise repeat issues to maintenance weekly.
- Keep rejects and rework low; stop a station yourself when a wrong part or method is found; keep client packing specs at every packing station.
- File the shift report for every floor and shift by 10:00 the next morning; give a written handover to the next shift.
- Run the weekly 5S walk, the weekly numbers review with each supervisor, and the skill matrix for every station.
- Run the cycle-time study programme and keep standard minutes current for every ladder model.
Greenfield project coordinator
- Be the company's single point of contact for the consultancy's on-site engineers and management for the full engagement.
- Jointly measure and co-sign the project baselines (productivity, space productivity, waiting time).
- Review every deliverable (time study, VA/NVA, VSM, takt-based capacity plan, block layouts, FSD, 2D layout, MEP design, BOQ, implementation plan) against the agreed acceptance criteria and recommend accept or return.
- Maintain the decisions log and get every decision answered on time.
- Drive vendor RFQs for trolleys, racks, conveyors, fixtures, low-cost automation and MEP contractors: spec sheets, three comparable quotes, first-unit trials, capex within budget.
- Co-author the line-by-line move sequence and own production continuity during the move.
- Keep the production tracker as the single system of record through the move; prepare the result sheets at the end.
- Be the engineer certified at handover to run 5S audits, line-balance checks and kaizen events after the consultants leave.
Requirements
- BE/BTech in Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent preferred.
- 7–12 years in a discrete-manufacturing plant (assembly, fabrication, sheet metal, furniture, appliances or similar), at least 3 of them leading supervisors on a multi-shift floor.
- Hands-on time study / work measurement (stopwatch or MOST), line balancing, layout drawing in AutoCAD, 5S and kanban roll-out. Done personally, not only reviewed.
- Preferred: one plant move, new line set-up or major re-layout executed end to end; experience coordinating an external consultant or contractor.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets; comfortable owning the numbers you are scored on.
- Fluent Hindi and English, spoken and written.
- Based in Delhi NCR or willing to relocate before joining.
How performance is measured
A monthly scorecard calculated from production records, not opinion: efficiency against target, plan attainment, material-shortage hours, floor balance, downtime logging, quality, reporting discipline, safety and skill cover. Project milestones reviewed against written acceptance criteria.
Compensation
- Fixed CTC ₹7.2–12 lakh per year depending on experience.
- Quarterly performance bonus on building results.
- Project bonus paid in tranches as the new plant hits design sign-off, go-live and result sign-off.
- PF/ESI as applicable, mobile reimbursement, conveyance for vendor visits.
Working conditions
Shop floor role, six-day week, rotating day and night shifts and extended hours during the move window. Safety shoes and PPE as per station.
