About the Role
We are a fast-growing organisation operating across warehousing, logistics, import-export (impex), and retail verticals. As we scale our operations and headcount, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior HR Manager to build, lead, and institutionalise the HR function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role that blends strategic thinking with operational rigour, reporting directly to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Own end-to-end recruitment for senior, mid-level, and junior roles across all business verticals.
- Design workforce plans aligned with business growth and seasonal demand.
- Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline through job portals (LinkedIn, Naukri), campus connects, and referral programmes.
- Standardise interview frameworks, competency maps, and structured assessment processes.
- Track and optimise hiring metrics — time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and offer acceptance rate.
HR Policy, SOP Design & Process Institutionalisation
- Develop and document SOPs for all core HR processes: onboarding, exit, PMS, leave & attendance, and disciplinary proceedings.
- Design and roll out an Employee Handbook tailored to logistics, warehousing, and retail environments.
- Establish a structured onboarding and induction programme to ensure faster productivity ramp-up for new joiners.
- Continuously review, refine, and update HR policies as the organisation scales.
Statutory Compliance & Labour Law
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour laws — Factories Act, Shops & Establishments Act, ESIC, EPF, Gratuity, Bonus, Maternity Benefit Act, Contract Labour Act, and POSH.
- Manage all statutory registrations, filings, renewals, and inspections; maintain a compliance calendar.
- Liaise with labour authorities, consultants, and legal advisors proactively.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and implement corrective actions without delay• Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour laws — Factories Act, Shops & Establishments Act, ESIC, EPF, Gratuity, Bonus, Maternity Benefit Act, Contract Labour Act, and POSH.
- Manage all statutory registrations, filings, renewals, and inspections; maintain a compliance calendar.

- Conduct internal compliance audits and implement corrective actions without delay.
Performance Management & Learning & Development
- Design and drive the annual appraisal cycle: KRA/KPI setting, mid-year reviews, and final evaluations
- Identify training needs through TNAs; design and deliver L&D programmes across functional and behavioural areas
- Build a learning culture through e-learning tools, in-house workshops, and external certifications
- Create individual development plans (IDPs) for high-potential employees.
Employee Relations, Engagement & Culture
- Act as the go-to person for employee grievance redressal with defined resolution TATs.
- Design and execute engagement initiatives — R&R programmes, town halls, skip-level meetings, and pulse surveys.
- Champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across the organisation.
- Manage the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under POSH and ensure periodic awareness sessions.
Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee monthly payroll processing including variable pay, advances, deductions, and statutory components
- Design and benchmark compensation structures that are competitive within logistics, warehousing, and retail sectors
- Review and administer employee benefits — group health insurance, term life, leave encashment, and gratuity provisioning
- Coordinate with Finance for salary budgeting and manpower cost optimisation
HR MIS, Analytics & Reporting
- Maintain accurate HR MIS covering headcount, attrition, absenteeism, leave, hiring funnel, and cost data
- Present monthly HR dashboards to senior leadership with actionable insights
- Implement and/or optimise HRMS tools for efficiency in HR operations
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- MBA in Human Resources / PGDM-HR / MSW or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized institution
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Hands-on expertise in statutory compliance — EPF, ESIC, Gratuity, Factories Act, Contract Labour Act, and POSH
- Proven track record of building HR functions, designing SOPs, and implementing HRMS platforms.
- Strong experience in full-cycle recruitment across senior, mid, and junior levels.
Preferred/Added Advantage
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP / CIPD certification or equivalent professional credential
- Experience in multi-location or multi-state organisations with distributed workforces
- Familiarity with blue-collar workforce management — warehouse staff, store associates, field teams
- Working knowledge of HRMS tools such as Keka, Darwinbox, GreytHR, Zoho or SAP SuccessFactors.
- Prior experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, retail, or impex sector.
