Job details:
Let's talk spine - because most of India doesn't.
Founded when surgery was the only mainstream solution to back pain, QI Spine emerged with a simple idea: non-surgical recovery should be the first option, not the last resort. Since then, we've built India's only spine-focused medical system - combining the expertise of 250+ specialists with cutting-edge AI tools like Doctor QI, our proprietary diagnostic engine. With 22 clinics across major cities, we've:
- Consulted over 2.5 lakh patients
- Prevented 15,000+ unnecessary spine surgeries
- Achieved a 93% recovery rate - among the best in the world
Our mission
To help people recover from back, neck and joint pain with accurate diagnosis and advanced technology- keeping surgery the last option.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior HRBP who is sharp, execution-oriented who has lived inside a scaling startup — someone who has built people processes from scratch, not just maintained them. You will embed deeply with business leaders across clinical operations, business development, and corporate functions, translating strategy into people action.
What You'll Own:
Strategic Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to clinic and functional heads across the QI Spine network
- Translate business priorities into talent, org design, and people capability plans
- Partner with leadership on headcount planning and workforce structuring for new clinic launches
Performance & Talent Management
- Own the end-to-end performance management cycle — goal-setting, mid-year check-ins, annual reviews
- Build and run succession planning and high-potential identification frameworks
- Coach managers on performance conversations, feedback, and PIPs
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Design and execute engagement surveys; close the loop with action plans
- Drive culture initiatives aligned to QI Spine's high-performance ethos
- Manage employee relations cases with empathy, speed, and compliance rigour
Learning & Development
- Partner with the L&D function to identify capability gaps and design interventions
- Champion leadership development programs for corporate & clinic leadership teams.
HR Operations & Analytics
- Own HR dashboards — attrition, absenteeism, headcount, time-to-hire — and drive data-informed decisions
- Ensure compliance with labor laws across clinic geographies
- Support compensation benchmarking, incentive design, and annual hike processes
What We're Looking For
Non-negotiables
- 7–10 years of HR experience, with at least 5-7 years as an HRBP or HR Generalist in a scaling startup (Series A–C or equivalent growth stage)
- MBA / PGDM in HR from a premier institute — IIM, XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD, MDI, or equivalent Tier-1 program
- Demonstrated experience building people processes from scratch — not just operating within inherited systems
- Strong business acumen; comfortable owning conversations with senior business leaders
- High comfort with ambiguity, rapid context-switching, and a 'figure it out' mindset
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in healthcare, retail, or multi-site/distributed workforce environments
- Exposure to HRMS/ATS platforms (Darwinbox, Keka, Zoho People, or similar)
- Track record of building or scaling an HR function during a period of rapid headcount growth (50% YoY or more)
What You'll Get:
- Ownership from Day 1: You will own the HRBP function for the entire organisation — not assist someone else's agenda.
- Builder Role: QI Spine is in active scale-up mode. You will create systems, not just follow them.
- Leadership Access: Direct line to the CEO and regular interaction with other C- SUITE team members
- Mission-Driven: We help people recover from debilitating spine conditions. Your people work directly improves patient outcomes.
- Competitive Package: Market-aligned CTC with performance incentives and ESOP eligibility for the right candidate.
