Primary Skills:
- Strong working experience in:
- Hardware architecture and system design for complex products involving analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits.
- Multi‑layer PCB layout, signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulations.
- Industrial EMI/EMC design and compliance.
- Leading and mentoring hardware teams.
- Able to define and review hardware architecture, including selection of critical components.
- Strong working experience in DFMEA, MTBF analysis, derating, and thermal analysis.
- Strong expertise in designing and developing embedded systems based on microcontrollers/microprocessors and associated subsystems such as switching/linear power supplies, electromechanical drives, sensors, I/O interfaces, and communication modules.
- Strong hands‑on experience in functional verification and debugging communication interfaces such as RS‑232/422/485, CAN, USB, Ethernet, DDR, and Flash memories.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, and communication protocols such as MODBUS, HART, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and 4–20 mA.
- Ability to manage end‑of‑life (EOL) and obsolescence risks by identifying alternates, redesign options, and long‑term continuity strategies.
- Experience in gathering requirements for the product and preparation of design documentation.
- Hardware design reviews and presentations with clients; strong communication, documentation, and review‑feedback skills
- Working experience with schematic design tools (Cadence OrCAD Capture), PCB layout tools (Allegro), and circuit simulation tools (PSpice/LTSpice).
- Ability to collaborate with manufacturing teams for DFM, DFA, and DFT.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (firmware, software, mechanical).
- Expertise with PDM systems for Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and revision control of BOMs, schematics, layouts, and other engineering documents.
Secondary Skills:
- Familiarity with PLM systems, Agile methodologies, and structured product development processes.
- Ability to define goals, performance metrics, and development plans for hardware team members.
- Ability to drive innovation within the hardware team and across product lines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supply chain, sourcing, and vendor management teams.
- Knowledge of RF and wireless technology design, including BLE, LoRa, and Wi‑Fi.
- Experience evaluating RFP/RFQ requirements and preparing competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Hands‑on experience with PLM systems such as Arena, Agile, and Windchill.
- Expertise with PDM systems for Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and revision control of BOMs, schematics, layouts, and other engineering documents.
