We are looking for a Senior Designer who combines strong visual craft with strategic thinking to take ownership of brand identity projects and contribute meaningfully to the studio’s creative output.
Role OverviewThis is a hands-on role requiring both conceptual thinking and high-quality execution, with a high level of ownership across projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Brand Identity & Visual Execution- Translate brand positioning into strong, cohesive visual identities
- Contribute original ideas that go beyond references or trends
- Design visual identity systems and brand assets aligned with strategic direction
- Ensure consistency across all brand touchpoints (print, digital, spatial), while applying strong fundamentals of typography, colour, layout, and hierarchy
2. Packaging & Print Execution- Work on packaging design with understanding of dielines, materials, and print processes
- Coordinate with internal teams or vendors to ensure output feasibility
- Maintain attention to detail in print-ready files and production specifications
3. Creative Collaborations & Project Ownership- Work closely with strategists, copywriters and motion designers for integrated output
- Take ownership of assigned projects or workstreams
- Align with briefs before execution and clarify ambiguities proactively
- Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple projects
4. Client Interaction & Presentations- Lead the presentation of design concepts and rationale to clients
- Incorporate feedback effectively while maintaining design integrity
- Balance creative ambition with business and client requirements
5. Quality Control & Design Standards- Ensure all outputs meet Rare Ideas’ visual and craft standards
- Minimise correction cycles through attention to detail
- Maintain consistency across formats and deliverables
6. Learning & Growth - Actively build design capability across branding, packaging, and emerging formats
- Stay updated with design trends, tools, and workflows
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing with juniors
Must-have technical skills & experience: - 4-6 years of experience in brand identity design (agency preferred)
- Specialisation in either typography-led or illustration-led brand design
- Ability to translate strategy into visual output
- Working knowledge of print production, packaging, and materials
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines independently
Good to have: - Exposure to F&B, hospitality, or retail brands
- Basic understanding of motion, spatial, or digital-first design systems
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows
