We’re Hiring | Senior Geotechnical Specialist – Hydropower - Lead large-scale hydropower, PSP, and dam projects across global markets.
We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Senior Geotechnical Specialist to lead and oversee geotechnical studies for hydropower projects across India and globally. This role is critical in ensuring the geotechnical integrity, long-term sustainability, and safety of hydropower infrastructure across diverse geological and terrain conditions.
📍 Location: Mumbai, India
🌏 Project Exposure: India & International Hydropower Projects
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead geotechnical investigations for hydropower projects in both Himalayan and non-Himalayan regions
* Review and supervise site investigations, geological mapping, and geotechnical assessments
* Provide technical expertise on tunneling, slope stability, underground works, and foundation engineering
* Prepare and review geotechnical factual & interpretative reports
* Conduct seismic and geotechnical risk evaluations
* Ensure compliance with IRC, BIS/IS codes, Eurocodes, and international geotechnical standards
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across national and international projects
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
✔️ Master’s or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
✔️ 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
✔️ 5–8 years of hands-on experience in hydropower/infrastructure projects in the Himalayan region
✔️ Experience in non-Himalayan terrains including Western Ghats, Deccan Plateau & alluvial zones
✔️ Strong expertise in site investigations, slope stability, tunnel stability & foundation engineering
✔️ Experience across varied geological environments including hard rock, residual soils & soft soils
✔️ Proficiency in RS2, GeoStudio, and PLAXIS
✔️ Excellent technical report writing & communication skills
✔️ Membership in professional geotechnical/geological associations is an advantage
✔️ International hydropower project experience will be an added benefit
