Role Description The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for leading and overseeing geotechnical investigations, including planning, executing, and interpreting site investigation programs for mining, processing, and infrastructure projects. The role includes assessing soil and rock properties, analyzing geotechnical data, preparing technical reports, and providing design recommendations for foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and other geotechnical systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, advise on engineering geology aspects, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and support project planning and risk mitigation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nagpur, requiring regular field and site visits along with office-based analysis and documentation work.
Qualifications
- Strong geotechnical engineering competencies, including Geotechnical Engineering and Foundation Design
- Practical experience in field and laboratory work related to Site Investigation and Soil characterization
- Knowledge of Engineering Geology, including rock mass behavior, slope stability, and ground condition assessment
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5, or equivalent) and standard geotechnical codes and guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; a master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred
- Several years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering for mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Strong report-writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor junior team members, and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical professional practice
