Role Description The Senior General Manager (CIVIL) is a full-time, on-site role based in Washim, responsible for overseeing all civil engineering and infrastructure activities for manufacturing and related facilities. The role includes planning, executing, and monitoring civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to structural safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Senior General Manager will coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to manage site layouts, utilities, plant structures, and maintenance of civil works. Daily tasks involve budget and cost control, resource allocation, project scheduling, risk management, and continuous improvement of construction and maintenance processes. The role also requires leading multidisciplinary teams, implementing best practices in health, safety, and environmental compliance, and supporting long-term expansion strategies for the company’s production capacity.
Qualifications
- Strong civil engineering expertise, including structural design, construction management, and knowledge of building materials and industrial infrastructure.
- Proven experience in project planning, execution, and control, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor/contractor management for large-scale industrial projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing technical teams, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and driving performance and accountability.
- Sound understanding of safety, health, and environmental standards, along with regulatory compliance in construction and industrial operations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications, and make data-driven decisions to optimize cost, quality, and timelines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and authorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree or equivalent professional certification in construction management or related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, building materials, or industrial plant projects, preferably in MDF or wood-based panel industry, is highly beneficial.
