Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior FinOps Cloud Cost Optimization Expert role based in Bengaluru South. The role involves designing and implementing cloud cost optimization strategies across multiple environments, with a focus on FinOps principles and cloud financial governance. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing cloud usage and spend, identifying optimization opportunities, creating and maintaining budgets and forecasts, and building dashboards and reports for stakeholders. The expert will collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to drive cost-aware architecture, implement tagging and allocation models, and support chargeback/showback processes. The role also includes establishing best practices, conducting regular cost reviews, mentoring team members, and recommending contractual and pricing improvements with cloud service providers.
Qualifications
- Strong cloud cost management and FinOps expertise, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback models, and cloud financial governance.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native cost tools, pricing models, reservations, savings plans, and resource optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Excel, BI platforms, or analytics dashboards, with the ability to interpret complex cost and usage data.
- Background in collaborating with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align technical architecture with financial objectives and business outcomes.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture fundamentals, including compute, storage, networking, and managed services, and their cost drivers.
- Experience establishing and promoting FinOps best practices, policies, and standards across an organization.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and technical teams.
- Proven track record in a senior or lead role in cloud cost optimization, FinOps, or cloud financial management; prior consulting experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications) are highly desirable.
