About JFK Transporters
JFK Transporters operates a 130-truck fleet servicing blue-chip logistics clients.
We're building JFK as an AI-first, safety-obsessed trucking company with institutionalized processes, systematic automation, and a foundation for 100+ crore valuation. This role is critical to that journey.
Role Overview
You will be the financial architect and operational controller for JFK's growth phase. This is not a traditional "accountant" role—you'll own financial strategy, P&L accountability, process automation, vendor management, compliance, and the finance systems that make scaling possible.
Your mandate: Build a finance function that is transparent, scalable, and audit-ready; eliminate financial friction; and give leadership real-time visibility into unit economics, vehicle profitability, and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Reporting (40%)
Architect and own the monthly consolidated P&L (company-level and vehicle-level unit economics)
Build forecasting models for the ₹10 Cr revenue target with scenarios around capital, margin, and debt
Design cash flow projections and working capital management to support debt-free aspirations
Present monthly financial deep-dives to the founder: variance analysis, risk flags, and strategic recommendations
Partner with operations on pricing, profitability by customer/route, and margin protection
Accounts & Compliance (30%)
Own month-end close cycle: accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
Lead audit readiness: internal controls, vendor audit support
Manage relationships with external auditors, income tax counsel, and regulatory bodies (ROC, GST, DGFT)
Ensure GAAP/Ind-AS compliance; flag legal/tax risks before they escalate
Oversee bank reconciliations, debt covenants, and creditor management
Process & Systems (20%)
Audit and institutionalize financial processes: order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, fixed asset tracking, payroll accrual
Own the ERP (eMIST) finance configuration and troubleshoot system issues that block reporting
Build automation into month-end workflows (e.g., journal entry templates, accrual schedules)
Integrate finance systems (ERP, bank feeds, CRM) to eliminate manual data entry and improve timeliness
Train finance team and ops stakeholders on financial reporting discipline
Vendor & Cost Management (10%)
Negotiate and monitor vendor contracts (tires, maintenance, fuel, insurance, logistics partners)
Audit high-variance spend categories and drive cost discipline
Implement cost allocation methodologies (per-trip freight, per-vehicle overhead, per-driver)
Identify and flag fraud, pricing anomalies, and process leakage before audit
Critical Mandates
Make vehicle P&L visible & actionable: Every vehicle's monthly profit must be trackable; margin drivers and leakage must be transparent.
Own the financial close: 5-day close target. No surprises to the founder.
Audit-proof the operation: Every transaction documented; controls in place; no gray zones.
Protect cash: Debt-free by FY26-27 means disciplined cash deployment and payables management.
Scale without adding overhead: Automation and process discipline must grow faster than headcount.
Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years in trucking/logistics finance (mandatory)
Fleet P&L experience (owned vehicle profitability tracking, per-trip costing, margin analysis)
Familiarity with trucking operations: freight billing, driver settlement, tyre/maintenance cost cycles
Track record managing vendor relationships in trucking (tyre suppliers, repair shops, fuel stations)
CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Cost Management Accountant) qualification required
Hands-on ERP experience: SAP, Tally, Oracle, or equivalent; ideally some exposure to trucking-specific ERP
Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, SQL queries for financial analysis
Proven track record: Built or scaled a finance function; managed 2-3 team members; survived an audit
Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Pune or Mumbai
Preferred
Experience with AI/automation in finance (e.g., RPA, Make.com, Zapier for finance workflows)
Familiarity with freight billing systems, GST compliance in logistics
Experience with debt restructuring, working capital optimization, or turnaround finance
Public company or high-growth startup finance background (scaling to multi-crore revenue)
Personal Attributes
Ownership mindset: You don't hand off problems—you own them end-to-end.
Curiosity: You want to understand operations deeply; finance isn't siloed.
Communication: You can translate complex financials into clear, actionable insights for the founder and ops team.
Resilience: Early-stage growth is messy; you're comfortable working in ambiguity and cleaning up legacy systems.
Integrity: Non-negotiable. You flag risks early and refuse to bury problems.
What You'll Get
Equity/ESOPs: Negotiable, tied to the ₹100 Cr valuation roadmap
Strategic influence: Direct access to the founder; your financial insights shape strategy
Growth: Build a finance team and systems from the ground up; scalable to a ₹50+ Cr company
Tools & support: Budget for best-in-class finance software, automation, and team
Transparency: Full visibility into business metrics, decisions, and challenges

Salary: Negotiable; depending on trucking experience depth and seniority
Bonus: Performance-linked (profitability targets, close quality, audit outcomes)
