Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage accounting operations, vendor payments, statutory compliance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, hands-on ERP experience, and sound understanding of GST, TDS, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Handle day-to-day accounting entries, including invoices, payments, receipts, journal vouchers, and contra entries.
- Manage all accounting transactions and ensure accurate recording in the ERP system.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and perform ledger scrutiny and reconciliations.
- Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inter-company balances.
- Reconcile books of accounts with GST portal data and coordinate with relevant teams for invoices and supporting documents.
- Ensure payments are processed after appropriate statutory deductions such as TDS, TCS, and other applicable deductions.
- Ensure proper accounting, supporting documentation, and maintenance of financial records.
Vendor Management & Reconciliation
- Conduct periodic vendor balance reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in coordination with procurement and operations teams.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for effective accounts payable management.
- Monitor vendor outstanding balances and ensure timely settlement of dues.
Banking & Payment Processing
- Reconcile bank accounts by compiling and balancing financial information.
- Prepare cheques, RTGS forms, and other payment-related documentation.
- Ensure timely processing of vendor payments and banking transactions.
- Monitor cash and bank balances regularly.
- Process payments strictly in accordance with the approved authorization matrix and company policies.
Taxation & Compliance
- Assist in the preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and related statutory filings.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory dues and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain records and reconciliations related to GST, TDS, TCS, and other statutory requirements.
- Assist the tax team in responding to notices, assessments, departmental inquiries, and audit queries.
Financial Closing & Reporting
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and reports required for financial statement preparation.
- Assist in financial data compilation, analysis, and MIS reporting.
- Provide accounting information and management reports as required.
Audit Support
- Assist in internal audits, statutory audits, tax audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and queries.
Fixed Assets & Record Maintenance
- Assist in maintaining and updating the fixed asset register, including capitalization and depreciation records.
- Ensure proper documentation and record retention for all financial transactions.
- Maintain accounting records in compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Data Analysis & MIS
- Compile and analyze financial data for management reporting and decision-making.
- Prepare reports and reconciliations using Excel and ERP systems.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and other finance-related projects.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), M.Com, or MBA (Finance).
- CA Dropout candidates may also apply.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in Vendor Reconciliation and Accounts Payable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Tally, or other ERP systems.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in SAP S/4 HANA.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, ledger maintenance, and financial controls.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and financial data analysis.
- Ability to adapt to various business applications and technology platforms.
