DESCRIPTION
The Senior Facade Designer will lead facade design development, estimation and technical coordination from concept through construction. We are looking for people with the following:
— Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Facade Design
— 5+ years of facade design experience (consulting or construction environment)
— Strong knowledge of curtain walling, structural glazing, rainscreen systems, and built-up wall systems
— Experience in facade estimation, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and cost benchmarking
— Familiarity with international standards (CWCT, EN, ASTM, AAMA) and NBC/IS requirements
— Understanding of fabrication tolerances, installation logistics, and procurement processes
— Performance criteria knowledge (thermal, structural, water, air)
— Knowledge of testing protocols (CWCT sequence, mock-ups)
— Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D preferred), Revit and Rhino preferred
— High standard of written and verbal English communication
RESPONSIBILITIES
— Develop facade details from concept to contract stage in coordination with facade engineers
— Prepare facade technical specifications and review shop drawings
— Maintain and expand facade detail libraries and dynamic CAD/BIM components
— Assist in developing facade CAD/BIM production strategies using parametric tools
— Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, consultant, and BIM models
— Develop comprehensive cost estimates including materials, fabrication, logistics, and installation
— Prepare and validate Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
— Lead rate build-ups, cost benchmarking, commercial risk identification arising from design or specification changes and value engineering assessments
— Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical clarifications
— Maintain internal cost databases and benchmarking records
— Prepare tender submissions, RFP documentation support, and commercial reports
— Take technical delivery responsibility and act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned packages or projects
— Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams
— Coordinate facade interfaces with structural, MEP, and fire engineering disciplines.
— Attend site and technical meetings as necessary
— Conduct site inspections for facade QA/QC
— Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives
— Perform other duties as reasonably required
