Position Details
Job Title: Purchase Executive
Department: Purchase
Location: Indore
Purpose of the Job:
To manage procurement of mechanical and chemical products, ensure timely availability of materials, develop vendors, and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle procurement of mechanical or chemical products as per production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality supply.
- Prepare comparative statements and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Execute cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and alternate vendor development.
- Create and process Purchase Orders in ERP system (Navision preferred).
- Track material status and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain proper documentation of quotations, POs, vendor records, and approvals.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, QC, and Finance for smooth procurement operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Qualification & Experience:
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in purchase of mechanical or chemical products
- Strong experience in vendor development and cost optimization
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems (Navision preferred).
Required Skills:
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Sound knowledge of mechanical components and chemical materials
- Good command over MS Excel
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
