Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Executive – US Accounting to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in US accounting, financial reporting, and client communication. This role requires reviewing accounting work, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting month-end activities, and maintaining strong relationships with U.S.-based clients.
The successful candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, strong accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
US Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Review and verify daily accounting transactions prepared by junior accountants.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with US accounting principles.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file US Sales Tax Returns accurately and within statutory deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and client-specific requirements.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
Client Communication
- Communicate effectively with U.S.-based clients through email and virtual meetings.
- Resolve client queries related to accounting records and financial reports.
- Build strong professional relationships by delivering high-quality service and timely support.
Team Support & Quality Control
- Review the work of junior accountants and provide constructive feedback.
- Support junior team members in handling complex accounting transactions.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and compliance across all deliverables.
- Assist management in improving accounting processes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in US Accounting.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of US Sales Tax compliance and filing procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Software Proficiency
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with U.S.-based clients in a KPO, BPO, or accounting outsourcing environment.
- Familiarity with US accounting standards and best practices.
- Strong client-handling and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to review team deliverables and ensure quality standards.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
