About the Role
We are seeking a Senior ETL Developer with strong expertise in Azure data services to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and warehousing solutions. You will work extensively with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics to enable batch, incremental, and near-real-time data ingestion. This role requires advanced SQL skills, data modeling expertise, and experience with CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps. Additionally, knowledge of Guidewire (GW) data structures (ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter) is mandatory to support enterprise data integration and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Data Engineering
- Design, build, and optimize Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for batch, incremental, and near-real-time ingestion.
- Configure linked services, datasets, triggers, and integration runtimes.
- Implement dynamic pipelines with parameterization and expressions.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and error-handling frameworks for production ADF solutions.
- Integrate ADF with Azure DevOps for Git-based versioning and CI/CD automation.
Data Warehousing & Performance Optimization
- Work with Azure Synapse Analytics for data warehousing and analytics.
- Implement data partitioning, indexing, and statistics strategies for high performance.
- Optimize queries and resource classes for efficient processing.
- Support the team with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and cost optimization.
Guidewire Data Expertise
- Leverage knowledge of Guidewire (GW) ClaimCenter (CC), PolicyCenter (PC), and BillingCenter (BC) data structures and processes.
- Design data solutions that integrate with Guidewire systems for enterprise analytics.
SQL & Data Modeling
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation and validation.
- Apply data warehouse modeling techniques (star/snowflake schema, dimensional modeling).
- Interpret data to drive business decisions and support analytics teams.
Data Governance & Security
- Ensure security, governance, and compliance in Azure data services.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to maintain data lineage and quality.
Mandatory Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in data engineering/ETL development.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Advanced SQL skills for querying, tuning, and complex transformations.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse modeling (star/snowflake, dimensional modeling).
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD of data solutions.
- Good knowledge of Guidewire (GW) ClaimCenter (CC), PolicyCenter (PC), and BillingCenter (BC) data structures and processes – MANDATORY.
- Strong understanding of EDW concepts and architecture.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and drive business decisions.
- Experience with security, governance, and performance optimization in Azure data services.
- Willingness to work in a remote model (based out of Bangalore).
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Python/PySpark for data processing.
- Knowledge of Databricks or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and visualization.
